Know Before You Go
Prepare for your Tour:
Dress appropriately for the weather! Most of the tours take place outdoors. You are coming to the country and may get dirty.
If your tour includes the Corn Maze, please wear shoes that could get muddy. (Though it will be closed if conditions are poor.)
Bring a camera! There are so many great photo opportunities to remember your visit!
We encourage you to bring your own water bottles. We do not have drinking fountains available, but do have water bottles available for purchase in our store if needed.
BEE ALERT - Be aware of bee sting allergies and have necessary supplies available if needed. Bees rarely are a problem for our guests, but are present on the farm.
Please arrive on time for your tour. Our tours are on a tight schedule to accommodate many groups in a short season, If you are running behind, please give us a call, but there is a chance your tour could be shortened due to late arrival.
You receive a map when booking your tour showing where to park based on accessibility needs. Please make sure to share this with Transportation Service in advance!
Groups need to meet at the Picnic Pavillion (unless directed otherwise). Please send ONE person in to check in for your tour with one of our cashiers inside the store. Do not go to the bakery counter.
Please have payment ready (checks can be made out to Jonamac Orchard). If parents are joining you for the tour, please collect their money in advance and pay at one time. Parents are not required to attend the tour, unless chaperones are needed. They are welcome to shop or hang out at the farm and meet back with your group once the tour is finished.
After payment is made, the tour guide will meet the point person at the cashier station in the Store to begin your tour. Add-on items such as donuts and cider or “goodie bags" will be given out at the end of the tour as directed by your guide.
During your Visit:
Please be respectful of others, and our farm. Follow our farm rules, pick up after yourselves, and be kind to your tour guide!
Be considerate if you are in the Picnic Pavillion while a tour video is playing for another group. Voices tend to echo under the roof, making it hard to hear the video.
If you are visiting our animals, please make sure to properly wash your hands immediately after. There is a handwashing station outside of the Animal Barn so you can use soap and water. This is VERY important, so people do not get sick.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your tour, we will make every effort to reschedule you depending on availability.
If there is bad weather and you are concerned, please give us a call (815) 825-2158 for the current conditions on the farm. Conditions can vary considerably between our location and yours.
If you do feel you must cancel, please call us as early as possible. Thank you!
